Established in 2012, Speech with Sarah, LLC, is a locally owned and located in Canby, OR. Speech with Sarah provides speech and language therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Our team of highly trained therapists addresses delays and disorders in articulation, language, feeding, social/pragmatic skills, autism spectrum disorder, stuttering, voice, and orofacial myology.
We are committed to cultivating trusting and collaborative relationships with clients to improve people's lives through effective and individualized therapy. Our therapists participate in advanced training programs and utilize the latest evidence-based treatments to ensure we deliver the best therapy possible. We actively collaborate with other professionals, engage families in all aspects of therapy, and provide clients with the tools necessary to take their skills beyond the clinic walls.
Meet our team
Sarah Burgon, MA, CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Utah and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 2005. Sarah has practiced as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a variety of settings, including early intervention, outpatient pediatric clinic, preschools, inpatient and acute rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and public schools. She has also worked as an Autism Consultant in the schools.
Sarah believes communication is key to quality of life. Part of serving her clients is teaching, motivating, and helping them gain independence in their skills so they can live their lives to the fullest. Sarah's approach is to help children learn to communicate through play. Therapy should be an enjoyable experience that everyone is excited about!
Sarah specializes in treating children and adults with articulation disorders, language delay/disorders, late talkers, autism spectrum disorder, and OMD (orofacial myofunctional disorder). Sarah is certified in Hanen Certified, PROMPT trained, and Orofacial Myology trained. She is passionate about orofacial myofunctional therapy and the positive impact it has on feeding and speech skills.
In her free time, Sarah can be found spending time with her family, gardening, camping and hiking in the beautiful PNW, and watching movies.
Laura Archer, MS, CCC-SLP
Laura received her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the Portland State University and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Pacific University. Laura has worked as a school-based clinician and in private practice with toddlers and preschoolers through high school-aged children. Her work has focused in the areas of expressive and receptive language disorders, speech, articulation, fluency, social communication.
Laura believes in celebrating each child's unique strengths and uses those gifts to foster growth and develop confidence in their own ability to communicate. She is dedicated to working closely with families to provide a confidence-building and rewarding therapy experience for each child. Laura is certified in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk as well as Lindcomb therapy for the treatment of early stuttering.
In her free time, Laura spends time with her five children, friends, and extended family. She loves DIY projects and spending time outdoors.
Donna Anderson, M.S., CCC-SLP
Donna received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from San Francisco State University. Donna has been practicing for 21 years, working with children, adults, and geriatric patients. She has extensive experience working with developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, as well as speech and language delays and disorders.
Donna's warm personality allows her to instantly connect with the children and families she supports. Whenever possible, Donna includes parents and caregivers in her therapy sessions. She understands the importance of empowering her clients' families with the tools necessary to support continued growth outside of the therapy sessions.
In her free time, Donna collects vinyl records and antiques and dedicates time to restoring her turn-of-the-century home.
Kristen Hardy, MS, CCC-SLP
Kristen studied communication disorders and Spanish at the University of Oregon and earned her master's degree from Pacific University in Speech-Language Pathology. Kristen brings years of experience with the birth to 5 population to the Speech with Sarah team, delivering therapy to address social communication disorders, speech and language disorders, autism, and disorders, and executive functioning skill deficits. Kristen has also worked with middle school age students delivering social skills and language therapy.
Kristen's caring and fun personality make her a natural fit for families seeking support for their child. She is dedicated to building trusting and collaborative relationships with both her clients and their families. Kristen empowers parents and caregivers through coaching on strategies for increasing communication opportunities during play and daily routines.
In her free time, Kristen spends time with husband, family, and friends, getting outside as much as possible!
Jenn has been running things behind the scenes here at Speech with Sarah since 2017. Her friendly, dependable, and compassionate nature allows her to connect immediately with the many families and clients she is in contact with. Jenn supports our team by keeping the office running smoothly, working with insurance companies so we can continue to offer our services to as many people in the community as possible, and is available to answer billing, scheduling, and many other client questions.
In her free time, Jenn stays busy raising two young boys and spending as much time as possible outside biking, hiking, and exploring the beautiful PNW.
